Shanghai Maritime University Campus Operation Plan For 2021 Summer Vacation

According to the University’s holiday schedule coupled with the actual situation on campus through the consultation with relevant departments, the summer vacation plan schedule will be implemented from Saturday, 10^th July to Friday, 3^rd September 2021.

Relevant matters are notified as follows:

a) Starting from Monday, 19^th July, 2021, all university staff and students entering the university campus need to declare and obtain an approval in advance before entering the campus. They can enter the campus only after the security officer(s) at the gate checks their entry pass and temperature. Additionally, students who have left campus for vacation cannot return to the university during the summer break. They are not to return to school before the commencement of the academic term in September.

b) Also, from Monday, 19^th July, 2021, Gates 1 will be officially closed at the LinGang university campus with the exception of Gate 3 and  Gate 5, which will be opened during normal hours. Please, refer to the arrangement below for details.

c) From Monday, 26^th July to Wednesday, 1^st September, 2021 the Hai Xin A1 canteen would be opened on the LinGang campus. Kindly, refer to the canteen operation arrangement below for operation periods from Wednesday, 14^th July to Sunday, 25^th July, 2021.

2. Make-Up Examination  

The Make-up examination for undergraduate students will be announced soon. The detailed arrangement will be announced on the website of Academic Affair Office. Please, take note.

       3.Library

          Note:

     Library locations iv, v, and vi would be closed on these days:

-      Friday, 16^th July, 2021;

-      Tuesday, 20^th July, 2021;

-      Friday, 23^rd July, 2021;

-      Tuesday, 27^th July, 2021;

-      Friday, 30^th July, 2021;

-      Tuesday, 3^rd August, 2021;

-      Friday, 6^th August, 2021;

-      Tuesday, 10^th August, 2021;

-      Tuesday, 17^th August, 2021;

-      Tuesday, 24^th August, 2021.

        From Thursday, 16^th September, 2021, the whole library will resume its normal operation hours according to the opening hours for the semester. Thus, Morning to               Evening, 8:00 am to 9:30 pm in library Building A and Morning to Evening,  7:00 am to 10:00 pm in Wu Mian School room in library Building B.

 4. Food

Equipment Repairs Department:

Hai Xin Plaza Public Bathhouse:

-       Will be closed from Monday, 19^th July to Thursday, 2^nd September, 2021. Staff contact 38283352, Péng Cōng (17783027843)

Sport Training Facilities:

-       The Table tennis hall on the 2^nd floor of the gymnasium will be open during the entire summer vacation from Morning to Evening, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.

-       The sports training hall will be opened for sporting activities from Monday, 12^th July to Friday, 20^th August, 2021, from only evenings (thus, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm). Apart from these days, it will be opened normally from Morning to Evening, 9:00 am to 9:00pm.

       Dormitory Safety:

For your daily safety, students residing in Lingang campus should read this notice very carefully and also abide by the rules set by the dormitory management.

The following are to be adhered to:

1.     Foreign students staying on campus are advised not to remain off campus at night without informing your student leader or the dormitory manager.

2.     Students are to abide by all public laws when outside campus, and also comply with public security officers when called upon during the holiday. 

3.     Do not use an open flame. It is strictly prohibited in the dormitory to use flammable and explosive substances such as kerosene stove, gasoline, alcohol lamp, butane gas tank, candle. 

4.     Smoking in public places is strictly prohibited by Chinese Law. Again, do not throw cigarette butts in an unsafe place.

5.     Illegal use of electricity is prohibited and punishable by law.

6.     Do not randomly pull out electrical wires.

7.     Tempering with the control switch of the electric box line is prohibited and punishable by law.

8.     Putting powered cord or appliances, charging cord or charger on or near your bed is also prohibited.

9.     Ensure that all doors and windows are closed when leaving your room.

10.  Unplug and Switch off all electrical appliances when leaving your room.

11.  In addition, smoking and possession of illegal appliances in the international student’s dormitory is a violation of University rules and regulations and remains strictly prohibited.

12.  In event of an emergency in the dormitory, inform the dormitory supervisor immediately and contact with the teachers in the International Education College（IEC as found in the contact table below.
