On Nov. 4th, the fourth SMUKME Engine Watchkeeping and Tanker Familiarization training programwas launched successfully. Along with Associate Professor Casper Melvang Andersen and 20 students from Copenhagen Marine Engineer College, Vice President Prof.Jin Yongxing, Dean of Merchant Marine College Prof.Xiao Yingjie, Dean of International Education College Prof.Shi Chaojian, Director of International Office,Yu Hongrong,representative teachers and Chinese students attended the opening ceremony, which is presided by Prof. Shi Chaojian.
Vice President Jin Yongxing warmly welcomed the students from Denmark. He looked back the cooperation process between SMU and KME, and expected to develop a broader areas of cooperation. Then Zeng Xiangming, teacher from Merchant MarineCollege, who is in charge of this training program gave a brief introduction of the training schedule.
The representative teacher from KME, Prof. Andersen appreciated SMU’s emphasis and investment on this training program and gave a positive remark on the Chinese exchange students who visited KME last summer vacation.
In addition to the tightscheduled training lessons, Merchant Marin College of SMU also organized various activities for the communication between Chinese students and students from Denmark, such as cultural exchange, sports competition, etc.
