The Fifth SMU-KME Engine Watch-keeping and Tanker Familiarization Training Program Launched Successfully

On May.12th, the fifth SMU-KME Engine Watch-keeping and Tanker Familiarization training program was launched successfully. Along with Associate Professor Poul Wathne, Casper M. Andersen and 28 students from Copenhagen Marine Engineer College, Director of International Office, Yu Hongrong, representative teachers of Merchant Marine College and Chinese students attended the opening ceremony.

After watching the short video of development of Shanghai Maritime University, the deputy dean of Merchant Marine College warmly welcomed the students from Denmark. He looked back the cooperation process between SMU and KME, and expected to develop broader areas of cooperation. Then Zeng Xiangming, teacher from Merchant MarineCollege, who is in charge of this training program, gave a brief introduction of the training schedule.

The representative teacher from KME, Prof. Poul appreciated SMU’s emphasis and investment on this training program and expected the coming of Chinese students to Denmark in the summer time.

In addition to the tightscheduled training lessons, Merchant Marin College of SMU also organized various activities for the communication between Chinese students and students from Denmark, such as cultural exchange, sports competition, etc.
