On July 25th, the closing ceremony of one-month lasting 3S (African program) was successfully held at the International Education College. Jin Yongxin, the vice president of SMU, Shi Chaojian, the dean of International Education College, Yu Hongrong, director of International Office, representative teachers, students and volunteers attended the closing ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Prof. Shi Chaojian.
Prof. Jin Yongxing, vice president of SMU delivered the congratulation speech and awarded certificates to African students. He congratulated their successful graduation, hoping that the students could make more efforts for the cooperation between their countries and China. SAVADOGO SARAH SAFI, the representative of international students, thanked for the scholarships applied by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and the elaborately arrangement by SMU, for letting them experience a meaningful month. Then some of international students shared their wonderful experience during this month.
Shanghai Summer School (African Program) was launched by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and organized by Shanghai Maritime University. This program admits African students, whose aim is to supply a chance for African students to learn Chinese language, culture and society. This is the first time for our university to undertake the 3S (African Program), and we elaborately arranged courses about Chinese language, and some lectures on Chinese economy, culture, society and law. What’s more, we also arranged extracurricular activities for the international students.
