On the morning of December 13th, at the invitation of International Education College(IEC) , Professor Ma Shuo, Vice President of World Maritime University, gave a special lecture on the topic of “The Latest Development Trend of International Shipping” to SMU teachers and students at the administrative building.
Professor Ma started his lecture with the discussion on Sino-American trade relations and with particular reference to the current situation of Chinese economy, examined the macro outlook of international shipping industry, the development trend of international maritime and Chinese maritime business. He also analyzed the formation of the current international maritime regulation system and pointed out that an urgent reform should be carried out for the governance system of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
After the lecture, Professor Ma interacted with the teachers and students and answered their questions.
