"Across the Oceans and Show talent" activity was held on Mar.23rd at Flower Port by Shanghai Flower Port Development Co., Ltd. Teachers and students from Shanghai Maritime University (SMU), Shanghai Ocean University, Shanghai University of Electric Power, Shanghai DianJi University, Shanghai JianQiao University were invited to participate. Over 50 overseas students of SMU took part.
The activity commenced with a melodious song played by SMU Chinese Folk Music Orchestra. Overseas students of the five universities of Lingang Area presented their well-prepared shows afterwards. The SMU students performed Tai Chi, folk dance, poem recitation and other programs of different styles, which won the audiences’ affection and applause.
Echoing the concept of shared future of the Belt and Road Initiative, the activity aims to enhance communication among different cultures, and to create a platform for students to show their talents and exchange their ideas.
