To meet the growing demand for Chinese proficiency certification among international students in the Lingang New Area , Shanghai Maritime University hosted an in-person HSK examination on March 22, 2026. This marked the resumption of on-site testing at the university after a prolonged hiatus, attracting 29 international students from 18 countries.
As an official HSK online test center in Lingang, the International Education College strictly standardized examination room layouts and administrative procedures. The College made meticulous preparations including equipment calibration, staff training, and candidate support services to ensure the examination was conducted safely, efficiently, and seamlessly.
The test accommodated multiple proficiency levels, effectively catering to international students' diverse goals for degree applications, academic assessments, and career advancement. Moving forward, the university will further optimize the operations of the test center and administer HSK examinations on a regular basis. Shanghai Maritime University also aims to expand its outreach efforts to deliver accessible and professional Chinese proficiency testing services for a broader community of learners, thereby contributing to the advancement of international education in the region.
